In this week's Home page Mike Bath made two references which stirred my memory.
1. Back in the early 1990s when Bernard Brannan was the QM for The Albert he told me that his elder brother had fought on the Republican side in The Spanish Civil War. 2. Regarding sign language - years ago I attended a performance of Glengarry Glenross at The Library Theatre which turned out to be a signed performance. The signer sat at the front of the stage with a fixed grin on his face as he translated the dialogue, including the numerous obscenities. Soon I sensed that the audience was more interested in how he would handle the next foul mouth exchange rather than actual performance behind him. To this day the only signs I know are obscenities. Happy days.
