Just wondering if Kieran's musings on the Home page were written under duress or under the influence of mescaline. That boy has gone so Gonzo. Far too much Hunter S Thompson over his Horlicks. Far too weird to live and too rare to die.
Are we to assume that his match report was based on a true story? And are we furthermore to assume that his Griffin based but not necessarily reality based team are henceforth to be known as KFD? Kentucky Fried Donuts, presumably. Seems a funny name for a quiz team.
Don't do anything just yet. I'll read it again and get back to you by lunchtime.

Ah it is so good to see Megson's particular brand of balderdash is back with us again. For too long, recently he has been like Achilles in his tent sulking that that Patrocolus has been wearing his clothes again. What caused this? A new Papal Bull ordering that all altar wine to be non alcoholic henceforth. Who knows?

Judging by the increasingly esoteric nature of his recent ramblings I am beginning to suspect that KFD stands for "Kieran For Dalai Lama".
Should I rush to inform the present incumbent that his job is under threat? Please advise urgently!

Buenos dias Megson, I've been expecting you all morning. What's it like now you're up and out of the shadow of the Valley of the Fallen Prelate? Speaking of fallen prelates, Graham Greene says hello from our side. He says he's been searching for someone exactly like you for all eternity and has a few ideas for stories he'd like to kick around over many, many drinks.
But back to shadow and light. How's the new place working out? Airy and welcoming, and much closer to the city? That will make it easier for friends and family to come visit at the weekend, to gather round singing songs and telling tales of the glory days when all were young and the world was at your feet. Come to think of it, are you sure you've fully thought through this move?
As for your question was the match report based on a true story? Well I have a theory that the truth is never told during the nine-to-five hours. My email says the report was sent just after 1.00 am, which is between some of the nine-to-five hours, but not others. And as we both know there is no honest way to explain The Edge. Or the other three fcekers for that matter.

“Holts, if you are seeking the truth, is better than a lie detector.” Just another reason why you should never drink Holts before writing up your match reports at 4 in the morning.
And Fr Megson would never want to get into a conversation with Graham Greene. He was a thinking Catholic and if there is one thing they taught us young career priests in the seminary it was never to get into a conversation with a thinking Catholic; heaven only knows what sort of embarrassing questions they might pose.
Though I did call into the Continental Hotel in Saigon last March to see what he was scribbling. Fortunately he was out at the time trying to find a quiet American and the receptionist said he may be some time. So I had a small beer which cost about the same as a night's lodging in my rather nice small hotel about a mile down the road and left. I hope he found his quiet American.
And Mobo, my son, I had approx 3,217 rants all written up and ready to post last week but I had to abandon them at the border because, backstop or no backstop, I couldn't get them smuggled past the Fascist Robot police. Had to dig a tunnel in the end.
They are a very effective deterrent, them wee jigsaw things with bits of traffic lights and lorries and bridges and fcek knows what else painted on them. I might install one of them in front of my confession box to stop Protestants sneaking in and picking up a cheeky and thoroughly undeserved Ego te absolvo at my expense.

Dear Junior Points of View,
I came across this thread when I was cleanin out the budgie's cage this morning. I've got Arlene from the Northern Reeks stayin with me for the weekend and we'll be out on the town tonight. Before hittin the Ladybarn nightclubs we would love to get our gnashers into them new Kentucky Fried Donuts. Does the Panel know if they are vegan intolerant?

Yes Megson, Holt's indeed. The Ambrosia of the godless, the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster of of the Heatons, South Manchester and all points of view. But we had travelled the wrong way up Parrs Wood Road to Nether Fallowfield and the Levenshulme borders. To the dark side where the death stare is to be found in the heart of the Stadium of Murk. So we were drinking London Pride, handed down to us with little ceremony and no cheer by a fierce custodian of all matters on her side of the bar. A smile costs nothing and she appeared to be on piece rate for there was no prospect of a friendly grin lightening the encompassing gloom.
Incidentally your old presbytery was reeking from a very recent lick of paint when we visited. I assume it has been in a major shunt and the paint was a desperate attempt to conceal serious structural damage.

Although no longer alas a Junior, I was intrigued to read your thoughts and felt the urge to chuck in my twopennyworth. I am reliably informed that KFDs are intolerant of most far-out cults especially those practiced in Northern Ireland. However if Arlene promises to chuck in the odd Mars Bar while they're being fried and dance on a table or two for their amusement they've been known to make an exception or so I'm told. Hope this helps?.
